The schedule of BLT meetings and events for the next academic year is now available below. This outline will hopefully allow teachers and management teams in schools to plan in the Northants BLT as a part of their ongoing CPD structure.
For example, it would be great to see schools taking all their staff to a BLT-Meet or attending virtually in place of a regular staff meeting. The three development days could be allocated to three or more different members of staff to ensure that the BLT ethos and inspiration is spread more widely in individual schools. The more schools that engage creatively with the BLT as a meaningful part of their future plans, the more effective and sustainable the network becomes.
Teachers will also be able to take advantage of the BLT exploration of low-threshold online webinars to disseminate ideas and grassroots expertise. Short explanations of interesting tools and techniques will be available online for 30 minutes after school, three times each term. Much more emphasis will be placed on helping folks attend events virtually as well as face to face.
However, it should be noted that these activities form only an outline of the organised schedule. It is hoped that many other local BLT-style opportunities will organised, publicised and shared over the coming months. Demand is likely to be very high next year for BLT events of all descriptions. If you are planning in the events to your schools schedule then let me know as soon as possible so we can ensure the venues – both virtual and actual – are appropriate. If you are willing to host an event in your school, then I’d love to hear from you too.
